Mission Oncode Institute

Oncode Institute aims to enable patients to survive cancer and improve the quality of life by creating breakthroughs in our understanding of cancer and translating these into next-generation diagnostics and treatments.

Your role within Oncode Institute

You are responsible for cultivating excellent relationships with the institute’s funders and major stakeholders and engaging them with the institute’s strategies, opportunities, and added value. You co-develop strategies for optimal embedding of Oncode Institute in the Dutch R&D&I environment and are in charge of developing and implementing various institutional policies.

Organisation

You report directly into the Management Board (MB) and collaborate frequently with different colleagues throughout the institute.

Tasks (Note: All tasks are in close collaboration with the MB)

  • Relationship management funders & major stakeholders
    • You are the first point of contact for Oncode’s funders (KWF, VWS, OCW, EZK and Health Holland) and major stakeholders, such as Oncode’s 12 partner institutions.
    • You stay informed on all Oncode’s activities and are aware of the latest developments
    • You engage in strategic discussions with funders and stakeholders at different levels, and define subsequent actions.
    • You schedule, prepare, organize and document periodic meetings with each of the funders and stakeholders
    • You keep record of action points and follow up with their realization throughout the organization
    • You proactively resolve any issues and concerns
    • In close collaboration with the MB and the communication team, you coordinate the creation of the institutional annual report, highlighting the added value of Oncode
  • Strategy development
    • You assist the MB in developing and implementing a strategy for optimal embedding of Oncode in the Dutch R&D&I landscape
    • You identify opportunities for Oncode to extend the reach and impact of its activities, nationally and internationally
  • Policy making
    • You design, based on best practices, tailored institutional policies on e.g. equal opportunity, sustainability, etc.
    • You implement those policies into the institute’s activities

The Candidate

The ideal candidate has a track record in stakeholder management, ideally in a setting involving both public and private partners. The candidate has specific affinity with healthcare in an environment like a research institute, an academic medical centre, a teaching hospital, a pharmaceutical company or a CRO. The candidate also has excellent communication skills, strong organizational capabilities, quickly grasps strategic concepts and is able to translate them into concrete actions. The candidate is able to bind and set other people into motion around a common goal, and has strong interpersonal skills.

The profile of the preferred candidate includes:

  • Demonstrable planning and organizational skills in complex stakeholder environments
  • Creative, flexible, problem-solving attitude
  • Affinity for aligning people to rally around a common goal
  • Excellent communication and writing skills,
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and oral)
  • · Holding MSc or PhD degree
