Your challenge:
The Linde Meyaard Group is expanding its efforts to identify and characterize novel inhibitory receptors. For this project, they will need to validate protein expression and function of multiple putative inhibitory receptors. You will be responsible for the generation of tools such as recombinant proteins, antibodies, etc, to study these receptors. For this, you will work independently and collaborate with multiple scientists in our team . Experience with molecular techniques (cloning), and ÄKTA are a pre-requisite.
Your profile:
Trained at HLO (hoger laboratorium onderwijs; university of applied sciences) level, or equivalent. Experience in molecular cloning and protein purification. Work independently and on multiple projects at the same time. Communicate in English at a sufficient level to discuss your results and follow-up plans.
Preferred skill: Affinity with immunology
Desired skill: Permit to perfom animal experiments, and the willingness to do so.

Your challenge:
Perturbation in transforming growth factor-b (TGF-β) signalling can induce cancer cell invasion and metastasis and immune evasion. To restore the balance we want to develop synthetic bioactive molecules that selectively modulate protein-protein interactions or enzymatic activities involved in TGF-b signaling. Examples of such molecules with therapeutic potential include nanobodies, macrocyclic kinase inhibitors, PROTACs (Proteolysis targeting chimeric molecules) and inhibitors of deubiquitinating enzymes.
Your profile:
A highly motivated scientist with proven research abilities to work independently and as part of a team. You should hold a PhD in chemical biology or molecular cell biology, and have a strong background in signal transduction. You enjoy challenges and working in a multidisciplinary and internationally oriented work environment.

Your challenge:
Perturbation of transforming growth factor-b (TGF-β) signalling can induce cancer cell invasion and metastasis and immune evasion. We have performed genetic, chemical and proteomic screens and identified novel and critical regulators of TGF-β signalling pathways. In this project their mechanism of action and importance in cancer progression will be elucidated. In addition, we will harness the ubiquitin machinery (e.g. using PROTACs) to induce degradation of critical pro-oncogenic factors.
Your profile:
An enthusiastic scientist with a drive to answer important fundamental and biomedical research questions. You should hold a PhD in life sciences and have a strong background in signal transduction or chemical biology. Your challenge
The research group takes multiple efforts to understand resistance to therapy and develop novel treatment strategies in gastro-esophageal adenocarcinoma (GEA). They have recently identified that one of the central problems in GEA treatment is the existence of excessive intratumor genomic heterogeneity.
This profound heterogeneity explains why often only partial responses are achieved by neoadjuvant therapy. To understand GEA intratumor heterogeneity and identify drivers and mechanisms of therapy resistance, the group aims to build patient-derived models of therapy unresponsive patients and use these to development novel treatment strategies.
Your profile
An enthousiastic post-doc with a PhD in cancer genomics or immunology with a medical or biological background. Affinity/experience with organoid modeling or immunological assays is needed. Bioinformatic skills are a great plus. You are a team-player with excellent communication skills. You enjoy a challence and have experience with working in a multidisciplinary and internationally oriented work environment.
