We are pleased to announce that Mario van der Stelt (Leiden University) is now part of Oncode’s Research Management Committee. Mario brings the Leiden flavour to the RMC and has a wealth of experience in medicinal chemistry, drug discovery and chemical biology. Trained as a medical chemist, Mario gained experience in a large pharmaceutical company and now heads his own research group at the Leiden Institute of Chemistry. His lab is recognized internationally for the design, synthesis and application of small molecules as chemical tools to control and visualize protein activity.

Mario: “I’m thrilled to have been chosen for the RMC. I am convinced that ground-breaking research takes place in the areas where different disciplines meet and work on a problem together. With my background in the pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of the drug discovery process and chemical biology, I expect to be able to make a complementary contribution to the RMC and Oncode. ”
